It can be challenging to pay enough attention to your food. How do you create variety in your meals, eat healthily with the seasons and avoid food waste?

Doing so with only limited time and energy after a full day of work? Or, if you’re single, and can find very few products suitable for your single meal? 

Team JARA helps you overcome these challenges and makes your cooking fun and satisfying!

A SOLUTION FOR HOUSEHOLDS AND FARMERS

When restaurants reopened, the immediate problem disappeared. We continued production by purchasing ingredients from our farming community in the Netherlands at fair prices, while turning the organic waste from our production process into compost that goes back into the soil, creating a circular food chain. 

So what for consumers? 

Listening to them, we discovered one simple fact: nearly half of the households in big cities are single-households. We’ve created easy roll-on recipes to create tasty plant rich meals. 

Each week two vegetables are the centre of four meals. A pumpkin might be too big for a single meal, but can be eaten in two or more different ways, to create more variety without food-waste.

Our JARA products are integrated for the easy twist to the tasty recipes.

MEET OUR TEAM

ANDRES JARA

Andres Jara is a Colombian chef and farmer at Stadsgroenteboer, living in Amsterdam. Andres started to preserve left-over produce from local farms during the Covid-lockdown in 2020. The best-selling products were continued after the lock-down.

He is a chef who turned into a farmer with the goal to revolutionize the way food is produced and consumed - to make sure that everyone from the farmers, to the sellers and the consumers make a conscious and responsible choice benefiting everyone in the process including and especially our planet.

LOEK VOERMANS

Loek Voermans, who lives in The Hague, is a Dutch chef and product developer at Feedingman. Loek and Andres met in 2021 during their work at Kitchen Republic. Together they are a dream team for developing recipes and products. Loek also takes care of the certification and quality processes.

LAURA FALCETTA

Laura Falcetta is an Italian food producer. Laura and Andres met in Italy while studying gastronomic sciences at Unisg. Laura joined Andres in Amsterdam to take care of the production of the JARA sauces and salsas.

MARLIES VAN LAARHOVEN

Marlies van Laarhoven is a Dutch business engineer and impact entrepreneur at Fresh Eyes!. Marlies lives in Amsterdam and met Andres at De Stadsgroenteboer in 2021. They immediately hit off as they share a similar vision and mindset. Marlies focuses on the market and business strategy for our fabulous roll-on recipes, sauces and salsas.
